Home Schooled Children

If you are in high school and are home schooled, there are some places online that you can take several high school courses online for free. You never have to attend school but can get some of the courses that you need for your graduation for free. You can take these courses at your own pace, and take as long as you want to complete them.

One course I found online is GED course, why did I choose a GED course? Because it will give you everything that you need to know to pass the GED, which is the equivalent of a high school diploma. They will teach English, math and science courses and give you the skills that you need. One place that offers the classes, but not the test is FreeEd.com.

Now this is a 2 year course, but they you can do it quicker than 2 years. It’s totally free, and you don’t have to take all the courses if you don’t want to. the great thing is that you don’t have to purchase books for the course, they do suggest that you purchase a calculator, but that is also optional.

Free ed will offer many courses online, some are mini courses that you can take for quick lessons, and they have many courses that you can take just for learning fun.  A list of all their courses can be found here.  You can see you have many, many options to choose from.  You can take some college level courses online also.

Some states will offer free classes for high school, here is the list of free high school courses online.  You may live in a state that offers classes for homeschooling while still getting the same curriculum as the public schools offer. Some will offer their course to students that live in a different state for a small tuition.

HP Learning Center:

HP computers will offer free courses for all types of computer and business courses. These are self paced that will teach you many things that you can learn from home. These will also make great courses for high school students who need or want to learn about computer programs. It’s free to sign up and free to take courses. You don’t have to purchase any books or materials to take these courses.  They offer Adobe courses for Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat. You can learn about Wi-Fi security, computer networking, bluetooth, build a website, They have Microsoft courses for Word, excel, PowerPoint and they have from beginners to advance lessons. Of course they also have lessons for photo taking, photo printing. You can learn alot from these lessons. If you are looking for free computer classes I would highly recommend this site. No matter what your computer skills are, they have a class that you can learn even more.

There are many choices online that you can find free high school courses online that your child can learn at their own pace.
